Shioh Kato Exhibition in Paris: 12 Bodaishin

加藤シオー「十二の菩提心を描く」パリ展より

12月10日〜12月25日の日程で、画家の友人加藤シオーさんの
「十二の菩提心を描く」パリ展が開催されています。

パリの中心地カルティエ・ラタンにあるギャラリー、
ル・スクリブ・ラールマッタンにて、13日の夜、
ヴェルニサージ（オープニング・レセプション）が
和やかに開かれました。

12月のパリは、クリスマスのイルミネーションに彩られて、
ホリデー気分が街中に満ち溢れています。

My friend, Shioh Kato, is giving an exhibition in Paris
From December 10 to December 25, 2011.
The theme is on the Twelve Bodaishin.

We held an opening reception on December 13
At the gallery “ L’Espace le Scribe l'Harmattan”
Where our friends and guests gathered to share the
Excitement of the special event with the artist.

Miyajima Late Fall

秋の日に宮島を訪ねて

京都からさらに足を伸ばして、
再び秋の宮島に降り立ちました。

前日の午後、靄に包まれた大鳥居は満潮の海に立ち、
一夜明ければ、朝日を浴びた凛とした姿で迎え入れてくれる。
手のひらを通し、悠久の彼方からの鼓動に触れるような圧倒感。

そして、山では紅葉が色づき、秋の思いは
せせらぎの音と共に、心の奥深くへと、ゆっくりと満ちていく。。

It was my second time to visit Miyajima in the fall.
Just like before,
I was enchanted with the Otorii gate emerging from the ocean
And the deepening colors in the maple trees.
There exists the world that I once saw in my dream
Or in a fairy tale a long, long time ago…

Ginkakuji Temple

古都の佇まい

今年の日本は、夏のような暑さがずっと続いていたそう...
例年と比べると、紅葉のピークはまだまだこれから、
とそんな感じの京都を訪れました。

前回の訪問では、カバーが掛けられ修復中の銀閣寺でしたが、
今回は、その凛とした姿を仰ぎ見ることが叶いました。
そこには、秋の木漏れ日を受けた庭園との、
絶妙な調和の時が、静かに刻まれておりました。。。

After the long-lasting summer,
We hear that the temperature has just started to drop
To the range more like the autumn recently.
At the Ginkakuji Temple,
I find the peace and harmony…

Halloween Is Drawing Near…

ハロウィーンがやって来る…


10月の最終日はハロウィーン。
スーパーマーケット、八百屋さんの店頭、
店先のデコレーションなど。
街中いたるところが、彩やかなオレンジ色に染まり、
もう今年もあっと言う間にハロウィーン。
秋がいつの間にか深まっていくのを感じるひと時。。。

Peuvent être vus partout dans la ville.
Quand je vois la vue des citroulles,
Je pense immédiatement à l’automne.

Hopping into Edo Era

くらづくりの町

江戸情緒が偲ばれる街並
当時の商人たちの心意気や喧噪が
どこからともなく
流れてくるようです。

With the Summer Still…

夏の余韻

カレンダーの上では、もう９月。
でも、陽射しは、まだ夏の名残りを留めています。
外に居るのがなんとも、のびのびと心地良い、
長い午後のひとときです。
季節の微妙な移り変わりを、少し感じるのは、
時折流れていく風が、頬をかする時だけ。。。

白、あざやかに

白い花たちに囲まれると、
心が洗われるような、
ハッと目が覚めるような、
新鮮さが、いつのまにか
意識の中に息づいていきます。。。

お店に入るなり、
カウンターのコーナーに、釘付けになってしまいました。

夏の陽気な陽射しの下で、
イーストウッドと、向日葵。
キリッと「絵」になる組み合わせです。。。

Feeling Gentle

優しさを感じるとき

随分久しぶりで訪れることになった、懐かしい街。
このタイミングで誘ってくれた友人の案内で、
新しい顔や空気に、触れ合えた気がしました。

建物の中なのに、中庭に居るような気分になるのは、
緑の植物と、高い天井と、大きな窓に囲まれているから？！

お店自慢のスパイシー・トマトのピッツァは、
信じられないほどに薄くて軽い生地に、
ピュレー状になった新鮮なトマトとクリームが、
ふっくらと焼き上がったクラストと共に、
絶妙な組み合わせで溶け合って、
心と身体に、優しさを届けてくれます。。。

Feeling Gentle

Sometimes we need a good reason
To revisit a town, which once was familiar to ourselves.

Thanks to a friend’s invitation,
I’ve rediscovered the charm of the town.

In this relatively new restaurant,
I’ve found the time passing peacefully
And the food extra gentle to the body and soul.
